Avi Brosh of Palisociety

A few weeks ago, I spent the day with hotelier, Avi Brosh. The morning began at his home in Malibu, where I photographed him surrounded by the objects, textures, and collections that make up his daily life. Later we drove to Le Petit Pali in Laguna Beach, one of his hotels. By the end of the day, I realized I wasn't photographing two different places. I was photographing one point of view. The same attention to detail. The same layering of color and texture. The same balance between thoughtful design and effortless comfort. It became less about architecture and more about personality. As the day unfolded, I found myself slowing down and paying attention to the smaller details. The way light moved across a table. The stripes of an umbrella. A folded towel. The reflection of a palm in the pool. The small gestures that quietly give a place its character.

I love assignments like this. They remind me that memorable spaces aren't defined by furniture or finishes. They're shaped by the people behind them and the perspective they bring to every decision.
